In 1992 I found an old record of the Broadway musical Hair at a used record store. I was sixteen at the time and was on the verge of coming out. As a result, I memorized all the songs easily and fifteen years later here I am: auditioning for a lead role in the San Jose performance of Hair.

This is the only stage performance of Hair I have seen, and I am so pleased that it is from my hometown. I agree with pretty much everything our director Jon Rosen had to say about it. This group really had an excellent sense of what a tribe is supposed to be. I am drawing inspiration from them, especially their Woof, Nic Candito. You can see me in the background breifly toward the end, sitting with my castmate Brie, during Let the Sunshine In.
